Be Multi-dimensional---Graduates Of GIMPA Challenged

Madam Anna Bossman, Ghana's Ambassador Extraordinaire and Plenipotentiary to France and Portugal has urged graduates of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) to be multi-dimensional in their field of disciplines.

She advised the students not to focus on one thing but rather broaden their knowledge in different fields to be competitive in the global job market.

Madam Bossman made the call at the 18th graduation ceremony of GIMPA, where the undergraduates went through programmes at the Business School, Faculty of Law, School of Technology, and School of Public Service and Governance.

'There will be challenges in your pursuit to succeed, but do not give up and fight to the end through hard work and determination,' she said.

Madam Bossman urged the graduates to be innovative and create ideas that would be beneficial to their growth and the society as a whole.

According to her, knowledge was critical in every dispensation and charged them to apply the skills acquired to transform the country to a greater heights.

'You need to be humble and learn from others, start from a low beginning to get to a bigger height. Let service to others be your motivator to define your measure of success rather than money', she added.

She advised them to be courageous and make good use of opportunities as well as make a difference in their field of work.

Mr Emmanuel Kyeramanteng Agyarko, Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, advised the students to put premium on their education, adding that, an educated individual helps to develop the nation.

'An educated person is able to understand issues well and make better decisions that will enhance national development,' he added.

He charged them to seek personal excellence by upgrading their knowledge to be marketable in the world of competition.

Professor Philip Ebow Bondzi-Simpson, Rector of GIMPA, said the Institute had established the School of Research and Graduate Studies to provide better structure and coordination in the delivery of graduate programmes and ensure ongoing quality supervision of research candidates and timely submission and examination of thesis.

He said the School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences had commenced steps to initiate graduate programmes in Economics and to strengthen French language proficiency for public servants and business executives.

The Rector said the Institute intends to focus on leadership, graduate studies and law, adding that, the institute was well positioned to build on its strengths, and remain the centre of excellence in leadership, management and public administration.

The Rector urged the graduates to put to good use the skills and knowledge they had acquired and make a difference in their field of work.
