Silver Jubilee Celebrations Of Subril Industrial Plantation School Launched

Mr Kaney Phanuel Donkor, the District Chief Executive (DCE), for Adaklu in the Volta Region, has lauded the Subril Industrial Plantation Socfinaf Ghana (PSG) District Assembly School complex for living up to its vision of training students.

He said since its inception 25 years ago, products of the school have occupied sensitive public offices as pilots, journalists, teachers, lawyers, politicians, doctors among others.

Mr Donkor, an alumnus of the school, was delivering a speech as the guest of honour to mark the launching of the silver jubilee anniversary celebration of the school at Daboase in the Wassa-East District of the Western Region.

He paid glowing tribute to the founding fathers of the school especially the headmaster who pioneered the role to make the school achieve an enviable status in the district.

Mr Donkor said the discipline and sense of commitment among the teachers moulded his character to make him what he is today.

The DCE appealed to the school children to make use of their time and talents to actualize their dreams.

Mr William Amponsah, the Human Resource Director of PSG, on behalf of the Managing Director said, the company decided to support government to develop the school when it was 20 years old as part of their corporate social responsibility.

He said the company was assisting the community to put up Senior High School block, an ICT laboratory, a fence wall around the school and a-six-unit classroom block to meet the ever increasing demand of the school population.

Mr Daniel Mensah, Headmaster of the School, said the school started with 168 pupils but now has 1,080 students from KG to Junior High School.

He said the school has achieved remarkable feat in academic affairs with 100 per cent score since it started writing the BECE.

Mr Mensah said the school would not relent in its efforts to instil discipline, hard work and supervision which are the hallmarks of their success story.

Mr Wilson Arthur, District Chief Executive for the area, said education remains a priority to government hence the free SHS policy.

He said the Assembly has provided 350 computers to stock two ICT centres in the District to equip school children with skills in modern technology.

The MP for the area in a speech read for him advised parents to play the supervisory roles at home to make their children study.
