The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) will hold a stakeholders' conference early next month to deliberate on testing standards for vehicles in the country.

The meeting will afford all partners, including trainers, operators and regulators the opportunity to contribute to and agree on a set of standards for testing vehicles in the country.

Currently, the testing of vehicles is based on standards set by the manufacturers of vehicles imported into the country and at the discretion of testing officers.

In an interview in Accra yesterday, the chief executive of the DVLA, Mr Joe Osei-Owusu, said partners invited for the stakeholders' conference included polytechnics, the Engineering Department of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), drivers' unions, Ghana Automobile Dealers Association and garages' association.
