Residents of Atonsu - Kuwait in the Asokwa Municipality of Ashanti region are calling on the minister of health, Hon Kwaku Agyemang Manu, to immediately inaugurate a building constructed to serve as a health facility in the area.
The intended health facility according to residents, at Atonsu - Kuwait in the Asokwa Municipality of Ashanti region has now become a venue for funeral and social activities.
In an exclusive interview with OTEC news, some opinion leaders in the area stressed that the use of the supposed new health facility for other purposes is seriously affecting the health of the residents since they have to travel to the municipal capital before they can access health care.
"The health facility which was built in the past four years was expected to be inaugurated before it could be used but due to political expediency, it has now been turned into funeral ground" residents decried.
An urgent step to get the building inaugurated so it can serve its purpose could possibly save the public purse as well as lesson the hustle the people of Atonsu-Kuwait go through before accessing quality health care.
