The Chief Executive Officer for the National Youth Authority, Emmanuel Asigri, is on the heels of some beneficiaries of a youth training project undertaken by his outfit following their refusal to return the laptops given them during the training.

Government procured 25 laptops through the National Youth Authority to train youth in digital marketing and entrepreneurship.

At the training Programme, particpants were given laptops as part of the program but they have since refused to return the laptops.

"We have plans to involve the police in the matter now and we will make sure all those people face full rigours of the law," he said.

The 25 laptops are reported to be stolen by some participant in the Ashanti Region.

According to the chief executive officer for the National Youth Authority, Emmanuel Asigri, the laptops were given to the participants as a training material but they have declined to return them after the program

Speaking at the graduation ceremony of over 300 participants who had successfully undergone intensive three months training in Kumasi, Mr. Asigri says his outfit will soon cause the arrest of the culprits.

“Those of you whom am told you signed on to take these laptops and have not returned them, we will pursue you to the last because we cannot allow anybody to set us up”, he insisted.

He further stated that he is in talks with his director and they are going to speak to the Regional Commander of the Police Service to get his men from the Criminal Investigation Service (CID) to investigate and go after anybody who has taken the laptop. He is of the view that, since they have taken the laptop and have refused to return it, they have declared that they are thieves and they will be treated as such.

In addition, he warned that if the Police apprehends any of the students, they should not get people from higher places to try to talk to him because he will not listen. “If the police gets you I do not want anyone to send anyone to call me because I won’t badge”.
