IGP/National Security Arrest the Lebanese Galamseyer Now Now!

The fight against illegal mining has thus far gone on well, but revelations that a Lebanese Galamseyer is involved in this illegality has given the Lebanese Community a cold spell. In fact, to say that he is in cahoots with the task force is damning, but more disturbing is the allegation that Aysha Huang is his partner. Why has Aysha Huang been let loose with such impunity? Can’t the laws of this land be respected for once? Haba!

In fact, there have been reports that some foreigners were, and still are, aiding and abetting the carnage that has overcome the forests and waterbodies. This Lebanese man, is not known to many. At least, from the brief research I conducted, the elders of the Lebanese community do not seem to know him. Some have even expressed their annoyance over the alleged operations of this idiot, notwithstanding the disappointing air of impunity that he boldly exhibited in the interview with the journalist. At this time, the Lebanese community will not harbour thieves, hiding behind a business that is illegal in the first place. The Lebanese Embassy must immediately take action to ensure that such urchins do not tarnish the image of its community. Since 1883, when the Lebanese arrived in Ghana, most have earned their livelihoods with their sweat and toil. There are those, as in every community, who ultimately try to outsmart the system, and same is not alien to our local businesses either. However, that does not make it a legitimate practice. All in all, the Lebanese have fared and blended well within the Ghanaian realms.

I advise the Inspector General of Police and the National Security to make a swoop on this creature and smoke him out. He should be searched for and arrested together with whoever he names from the Vanguard taskforce, as the journalist alleged. Many allegations are floating about them, too! Unless he was referring to some of the 700 NDC persons who were recruited by John Mahama into the Jubilee House shortly before his exit, no NPP employee of the presidency that I know works in Galamsey or have an idea on how it is done. He should be made to expose his accomplices and arraigned before the courts of the land to face punishment for insulting the integrity of the nation, which is struggling to undo the damage that the NDC had brought upon it. Let no man, irrespective of their social, financial, or other status feel they are at liberty to desecrate the mission of His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to #MakeGhanaGreatAgain.

There is also Al Borady Company, owned by a Saudi Arabian that is alleged to be seriously involved in capital flight, currently being investigated. I believe in the integrity of EOCO and its Director, Mr K.K. Amoah, who is tried and tested. He is a man of sterling reputation, and will ensure that the right thing is done at all times. In shaa ALLAH, the investigations will yield fruit. The Saudi’s story is quite a complex one that needs to be told in series, really, having allegedly used an intricate system to beat tax, scooping a whopping twenty million US Dollars over a period of about three years before the advent of the NPP government. I was recently informed that the company has rented out over half of its fleet of excavators to illegal miners. Their modus operandi is quite shady. It is alleged that they partner galamseyers with their machinery and share the gold.

So as I plead that the Lebanese man, Yahya, be arrested and charged with breaching the laws of the land and impugning the executive orders of the President, I also plead that the likes of Al Borady be apprehended and charged with capital flight and theft of Ghana’s resources.

Those big boys in the NDC who have the habit of calling persons in the government to intervene better be warded off. I will expose them no matter who they are! This is a national call to duty, and every well-meaning Ghanaian should be involved. The naysayers and foul-mouthed zombies must understand that no matter how much rubbish they spew, Ghana will continue to rise under His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. And they should be mindful that a high ranking member of their NDC party is of 100% Lebanese roots. So before they cast their stone, they should think of the glass house that they live in.
