Nsakinaa Youth Association construct football field

Nsakinaa (GA/R), Aug. 23, GNA - The Nsakinaa Youth Association branch in the Trobu-Amasaman Constituency of the Greater Accra Region has constructed a football field at Nsakinaa at the cost of over 60 million cedis.

The playing field is to provide the various clubs and the youth within its vicinity the opportunity to train and engage in other sporting activities to make use of their leisure time. Mr Isaac Quaye, Secretary of the Association who briefed the GNA Sports about the project at Nsakinaa at the weekend, said the project was undertaken through communal labour and financial contributions by members of the Association and some members of the community. Some of the clubs in the area expected to benefit from the field are Great Nsakis, Odu Stars, Abbeyman Stars, Obeyeyie Stars and Awoshie Stars.

Nii Tetteh Kofi Quaye, Mankralo and opinion leader of the area who donated the plot to the Association commended the members for their communal spirit and efforts in making engage in useful ventures and urged them to keep it up.

He asked the various clubs in the area to draw up plans to engage in series of friendly football matches to build strong teams and urged the footballers to train very hard to make up a formidable team for the area.

In a football match to climax the occasion, Great Nsakis, the host team beat Abbeyman Stars by a lone goal when the skipper of the side, John Tetteh headed home the ball to the blind side of the visitors goalie in the 66th minute.
