The Ghana Education Service has opened investigations into a viral video in which the head teacher of Adumanu D/A Basic School, Robert Sepey, is seen having sex with a young lady believed be a third-year senior high school student.
Although the video shows the two had consensual sex, the headteacher has fled the community since the video reached millions of Ghanaians via Whatsapp and other social media platforms.
Public Relations Officer of GES, Cassandra Twum, says sanctions will be applied if Mr Sapey is found culpable.
"We also saw the video yesterday [Tuesday] and quickly we asked the Regional Director and the District Director to launch investigations into the matter," he said.
She is hopeful a report will be ready by Thursday to determine the next step.
