Mampong (Ash) Dec 30--Mr. Thomas Appiah Kubi, Asante Mampong Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) has stated that development comes with a great deal of sacrifice, dedication and selfless discharge of duties and urge Assembly Members and community leaders to come together to move the Municipality from its current situation to another level of development
This was contained in an address by the MCE during the last meeting in 2017 of the Assembly at Asante Mampong last Friday.
He said the Municipality remain relatively calm except for some few cases of petty thefts, armed robbery and a recent murder incident where a Fulani young man butchered a 30-year-old Dargarti man a Kubeinease on December 2, 2017.
He urged the Assembly Members to educate farmers in the various communities to report all cases involving Fulani Herdsmen to the police but not to take the law into their own hands.
He said the Assembly has engaged the services of a lawyer to handle all the Assembly's legal matters.
The MCE revealed that as at October 2017, the Assembly had collected a total of GHC 5,632,612.67 out of the estimated amount of GHC 8,703,233.76 representing 64.7%.
On sanitation, he said the Assembly has secured partnership support from Renergenc Limited, a Finland Company to construct a Waste of Energy (W2E) treatment plant at Mampong. He said land has been secured for the construction of the plant adding that when it is completed, the nearby districts like Sekyere Central, Ejura-Sekyedumase and Kwabere will help supply the needed waste to the plant.
On development projects, services and programmes, the MCE mentioned a number of projects under health, education, water and sanitation, security and Income Generation, ect.which are at different stages of completion
Touching on One District One Factory, he said a proposal on the establishment of Carrott Factory has been submitted to the National Co-ordinator of the programme, whilst the Municipal Implementation committee has been constituted and awaiting inauguration.
