Ejisu youth to demonstrate in support of DCE

Ejisu (Ash), July 11, GNA - The youth of Ejisu in the Ejisu-Juaben District of Ashanti have expressed their support for Mr Yaw Ahenkora Afrifa, the acting District Chief Executive and called on the President to retain him.

They have therefore planned a massive demonstration in support of his retention.

Their support, they say, was in reaction to position by a section of the people, who accuse him of being corrupt and therefore asked the President not to re-nominate him.

Mr Osei Yaw, a spokesman of the youth told the Ghana News Agency at Ejisu on Wednesday that Mr Afrifa had undertaken a lot of development projects for the district and wanted him retained as the DCE to continue with his good work.

Speaking to the GNA later, Mr Afrifa called for calm and asked the people not to do anything that would disturb the peace the district was enjoying.

He asked the people to allow the assembly to decide whether they endorsed the President's nomination or not since it was the assembly that had the mandate to decide. 11 July, 05
