Forikrom (B/A), July 11, GNA - Mr Simon Addai, the Member of Parliament for Techiman South, has urged people of Forikrom in the Techiman municipality to get involved in the development programmes of the area.

He said the government alone could not develop all areas of the country without the people participating and initiating self-help projects.

Mr Addai said this in a speech read for him at the presentation ceremony of cement and iron rods worth six million cedis to the people of Forikrom towards their electrification project. The amount came from his share of the Common Fund and said even though it was meager it would contribute to the early completion of the project.

Nana Akumea Sakyi, Akwamuhene and Mr. Krobea Asante, unit committee chairman, who jointly received the items, commended thanked the MP.

They appealed to the MP to improve the drainage system in the area as the area becomes flooded during heavy downpours. They also appealed to the MP and the Techiman Municipal Assembly to provide additional classroom blocks for the Methodist and Seventh-day Adventist primary schools to ease congestion.
