President Nana Akufo-Addo…A blessing Long Overdue Part II

Feature Article President Nana Akufo-Addo
OCT 19, 2017 LISTEN
President Nana Akufo-Addo

In Part I of this series, I unintentionally overlooked a typographical error, which stated that His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo was the 7th President of the 4th Republic. That should have read 5th President, rather. I thank my well-wishers for courting my attention to correct this forgivable oversight. I am most grateful.

So, talking about the salient issues that separate competence from the flatulence of corrupt leaders as harboured by the vacuous NDC, the alacrity of the President’s resolve to turn our fortunes around after the deflated plot of John Dramani Mahama to sell Ghana to the highest bidder was the stimulus that bumped our nation off the trajectory of shame to that of positive growth.

The result was a Quantum Leap from a sinking nation to one catapulted to greatness by the implementation of pragmatism of a special kind. As I was planning out the next few articles, including this piece, I had to drop my pen and take a deep breath, especially after headlines flashed everywhere that the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo had inaugurated the digital address system. What a WOW!!! Almost every other week, a precedent of some sort is being set, adding more value to our life as a nation.

The difference between the gormless rhetoric of John Dramani Mahama during his tenure in office as the most incompetent President Ghana has ever had and the current Nana Akufo-Addo’s is that the former talked too much before he even began work on his fantasies, and the latter is working out the best for the nation, inaugurating systems only when they are in place. That is why John Mahama failed. I won’t forget the day that he prematurely inaugurated the Bui Hydroelectric Dam. No sooner did he switch on the lights than the whole system went “Phweep” dead. What a crock!

The signs of progress in the President’s agenda of making Ghana great again are not that of the Zodiac and fairytales. What we are seeing is actual positive change that we all yearned for! What we are seeing is the difference between the lackadaisical NDC and the vigorously competent NPP! What we are seeing is the transformation from a “Guggisberg economy” to an industrial one! What we are seeing is the empowerment of Ghanaians to give the nation the much needed power to put shoulder to bumper to roll the John Mahama failed vehicle out of the hell hole that he left us in and onto the highway to heaven; a heaven of blessings, grace, favour, and success! Yes that is what we are experiencing under the Akufo-Addo Presidency.

Is this blessing not long overdue? Is this blessing not long needed? Those that can deny the essence of this blessing cannot be Ghanaian! Those that can deny the landfall of this blessing cannot be human! Those that can reject this blessing can only be NDC!

Let me plagiarise my own statement of Part I of this discussion: For the unfortunate cases of AFM, ‘Acute Faculty Malnutrition’, let me explain the import of my article in a few words.

It is not sycophancy. It is a love for the people who uphold truth, accountability, justice, and incorruptibility. An obdurate will to support the mantra, “Making Ghana Great Again!” Sycophancy is rather an NDC symptom of beating the chest in fake love for gluttons who steal our pie and eat without refrain or restrain.

Sycophant(s) is a noun. It refers to the NDC hungry stooges that survive on the scanty crumbs that fall from the mouths of thieves with sharp teeth who feast on our large stolen national pie. Such people are described as ‘Obsequiously infantile’, ‘inanely childish’, or ‘ridiculously incompetent.”
