Tarkwa (W/R), Sept. 5, GNA- A Tarkwa Circuit Court has fined a 39 year-old driver, Abdulai Fuseini 3,000.00 for negligently causing harm, careless and inconsiderate driving.
Abdulai, who pleaded guilty to the offense, was convicted on his own plea.
Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Faustina Celestina Anaman told the court presided over by Mr Emmanuel Bart-Plange Brew that on March 18, at 2030 hrs, the convict who was holding a temporary license was driving a Mercedes Benz sprinter bus with registration number GN 4269-14 with passengers on board from Kumasi towards Enchi in the Western Region.
She said on reaching a section of the road at the National Health Insurance Scheme office at Asankrangwa, the vehicle knocked down one Ibrahim Abam, 41, who was walking along the road
Chief Inspector Anaman said the victim sustained injuries and was taken to the Catholic hospital at Asankrangwa where he died four days after admission.
She said a post mortem examination conducted on the deceased indicated that he died out of head injuries.
The Prosecutor said during investigation it was detected that the breaks, steering, gears and electrical systems of the accident vehicle were found to be in good condition.
