Porter jailed seven years for unlawful entry

Akim Swedru, June 15, GNA - The Akim Swedru Circuit Court on Wednesday sentenced a porter to seven years imprisonment for unlawful entry and causing damage to electrical wires in an uncompleted storey building at Akim Aboabo in the Birim South District. The convict, Yaw Adade, 19, was convicted on his own plea of guilty to destroying the electrical wires.

Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector John Pardmore Arthur told the court that on June 12, a police patrol team was alerted that somebody was on the ceiling of an uncompleted storey building removing electrical wires.

When the patrol team got to the scene they saw the convict hiding in the ceiling with his booty and was arrested.
