Chief asks MDCEs to build working relationship with assembly members

Nkoranza, June 19, GNA - Nana Okofo Agyapong III, Adontenhene of Nkoranza Traditional Area in Brong-Ahafo region has urged Municipal and District Chief Executives (MDCEs) in the Region to establish good working relationship with assembly members for development proposes.

He also advised them to operate open door administration devoid of partisan lines to speed up development processes.

Nana Agyapong III, gave the advice when the Nkoranza North District Chief Executive, Madam Gifty Akosah-Arthur paid a courtesy call on the Traditional Council at Nkoranza.

He said it was imperative for the MDCEs to study the official documents of their predecessors, to give them a background to build on.

This, Nana Agyapong said would enable them to know the level of development as well as identified and address the immediate needs of the communities.

Madam Akosah-Arthur expressed concern about increased teenage pregnancies in the District.

She said illegal logging, alcoholism and drug abuse were also some of the challenges which needed support from the Traditional Council to tackle.

Madam Akosah-Arthur observed that teenage pregnancies were seriously impeding girl child education in the local communities, saying several girls dropout of the schools at the basic level.
