By Mildred Siabi-Mensah, GNA Sekondi, April 1, GNA - Mr Anthony Kobina Kurentsir Sam, the Metropolitan Chief Executive of Sekondi/Takoradi, has said pragmatic measures have been taken by the assembly to bring improvement in the quality of lives of the people in the metropolis.

'I am determined to lead a team of committed technocrats to prosecute the vision of the President for Sekondi/Takoradi which is to ultimately record significant improvement in the quality of lives of residents', he said.

Mr Sam was speaking at the first quarter town hall meeting by the assembly at Bakaekyir, a suburb of Sekondi.

The town hall meetings have been adopted by the assembly to allow the assembly to interact with its constituents on their expectations, concerns and provide the people a greater voice in the local governance set up.

He said the assembly has earmarked over 120 development projects to be undertaken in the year 2017 and that GH¢37 million has been projected for the execution of those selected projects.

He said the assembly was expected to raise GH¢7 million from its internally generated fund whilst the bulk of the monies is to be expected from donors and the Government of Ghana.
