Confusion In Pusiga Education Office

16.03.2017 LISTEN
By Frederick Manu

The newly posted teachers in the Pusiga District,Upper East, currently find themselves in a teaching unfriendly situation. All newly trained and posted teachers in Ghana are to go through some laid down processes in order to get themselves paid(monthly salary).

Due to this,GES has spelled out the rules of the game to each district education office, concerning securing staff IDs,going through biometric processes and Validation. But it seems, the leadership of the PUSIGA district education office, especially the District director and the IPPD Coordinator are not making things go easy for the already crying teachers.

All newly trained teachers in the Upper East Region have received their staff IDS.Even districts which submitted their particulars to the GES head quarters three weeks later than the day the IPPD Coordinator of the PUSIGA district reportedly submitted theirs have received their staff IDs. Some of the taechers tried to make enquiries from the education office, but the leadership of the district took a shut up position.

Meanwhile, the other few districts in the nation awaiting Staff IDs have given assurance to their newly trained teachers, with respect to the information they have had from GES headquarters.

This has triggered the teacher in question to boycott class since last two weeks until staff IDs secured. Subsequently, it has increase abscentism on the side of pupils.
