Sunyani, March 18, GNA - For biting off the lower lip of her rival at Atronie, near Sunyani, Ama Mankwah, a 33 year-old farmer was on Friday remanded by the Sunyani Circuit Court.
Ama's plea was not taken and will reappear on March 22, this year. Deputy Superintendent of Police Alex Yartey Tawiah, prosecuting, told the court that the accused and Madam Yaa Afrakomah married to Mr Wahab Ofori, a farmer.
The accused, the senior wife, stayed with her parents whilst Yaa lived in a room their husband rented.
On March 1, 2003, Mr Ofori attended a funeral and got drunk so spent the night with Yaa.
Ama went to Madam Yaa's house early in the morning ostensibly to invite their husband to take his meal and met Yaa standing at her doorway and forced herself into the room.
This angered Madam Yaa and in a fight the accused bit off the lower lip of her rival.
