Cape Coast, Feb. 21, GNA - Newly promoted Ekumfi Eyisam Lumumba Stars displayed abundant stamina and skills to hold Cape Coast Mysterious Dwarfs to a pulsating goalless draw in a friendly soccer match played at the Robert Mensah Sports stadium at Cape Coast on Sunday.

The match, formed part of Dwarfs' preparation towards the National Middle League which kicks off on Saturday, February 26th in Accra, Cape Coast, Sekondi and Kumasi.

Featuring players including Bedua Aidoo, Peter Amoah, Musa Osumanu, James Beduson and Ato Biney, the Ekumfi boys matched Dwarfs squarely in all departments of the game.

Lumumba Stars forced Dwarfs to play in their own half for most of the first half, and they twice came close to scoring but their midfielder, Charles Nyarku wasted the chances.

Realising that the game was becoming tough for them, Dwarfs brought on their ace dribblers, Henry Davies and Felix Sackey on resumption of the second half and that enabled them to change the pattern of the game and to dictate the pace for a long spell in the second half but they failed to find the net.

The best chances for Dwarfs came in the 75th and 76th minutes when Davies' shots at goal was acrobatically saved by substitute goalie, Mahunya Homenya who was in the post for the Stars.
