Accra, Feb 1 (Graphic) -- The Appointments Committee of Parliament will this morning present its report on the vetting of ministerial nominees to the Committee of the Whole of the House.

Sources close to the committee said yesterday that 29 out of the 35 nominees were cleared by the committee at its sitting yesterday.

They said the committee had put on hold the approval of six of the nominees because the committee had to carry on further investigations into petitions filed against them.

The sources named them as Mr Isaac Edumadze for the Central Region Sheikh I.C.Quaye for the Greater Accra Region Mr J.Boahen Aidoo for Western Region Dr Richard Anane for Road Transport Mr Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey for Tourism and the Modernisation of the Capital City Major Courage Quashigah(retd)for Health. Yesterday some supporters of Sheikh Quaye and Mr Obestebi-Lamptey stormed Parliament House to petition the Appointments Committee against putting their appointments on hold.
