Gomoa Jukwa, (C/R) Jan 3, GNA - The chiefs and elders of Gomoa Jukwa , near Agona Swedru, have given one-week ultimatum to residents both at home and outside to pay their development levy ranging from GH¢ 10 - GH¢ 15 or face sanctions.

According to the chiefs, after the period, defaulters would be summoned to the Palace and made to pay three times of the amount in addition to bottles of schnapps.

Nana Kweku Aggrey, Obaatan of Gomoa Jukwa made this known at durbar to climax the week-long Annual celebration of Akwambo Festival of Chiefs and People of the town at the weekend.

He stated that many residents have refused to pay their levies imposed on them towards development projects in the town.

Obaatan Aggrey hinted that the money would be used to complete the modern toilet facility, provision of streets lights and paving of the floor of the community centre.

He said the area cannot wait for government and Member of Parliament for assistance for development projects.

Naana Eyiah Quansah, New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Gomoa Central donated 20 bags of cement to support on-going projects.

He appealed to the people to vote massively for her and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the November 7 presidential and parliamentary elections.

She said NPP government under Nana Akufo- Addo would ensure that social amenities are provided to the area.
