The Youth Wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has stated that the Kufuor Administration has a lot of socio-economic issues to tackle and therefore has no time to plan the assassination of former President Rawlings.
“The Government has more important areas of national concern to tackle such as healthcare, agricultural development, job creation, good quality water, sanitation and the provision of quality education than to waste time plotting to assassinate the former President,” it said.
In a statement issued in Accra, it said “the NPP is not a bloodthirsty government. The National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the former President are rather being chased by their own past activities.”
The statement was reacting to claims by the former President and the NDC Youth Forum that the government was plotting to assassinate the former President.
