Accra, Sept 01, GNA - The Presiding Officer at Gbebu Electoral Area in the Ablekuma West Constituency, Mr David Fometu, said voting in the district and unit committee elections was progressing steadily.
Interacting with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), he said although voting started late around 0715 hours, the process had so far been calm and there were also security men to maintain law and order.
Mr Fometu noted that seven candidates are contesting the District Assembly elections while 14 candidates are contesting the Unit Committee elections.
The Ablekuma West Constituency has five electoral areas which, at the time the GNA visited, have all started voting amid a low voter turnout.
