Winneba (C/R) Sept.1, GNA - The Right Reverend Dr. Osibisah Lartey, Presiding Prelate of West Africa Episcopal District of the A.M.E Zion Church has appealed to the government to put in place measures on the highways to make it safe for users.

He said last year over 400 people were killed as result of motor accidents, hence the need for policy makers and managers of the road not to rest, but work harder to ensure that drivers on the road drove in accordance with road and transport regulations to help prevent such carnages on the roads.

Rt. Rev Osibisah Larty made the appeal in a resolution passed by the delegates at the 108 Session and Annual Conference of the Church, held at Winneba.

It was on the theme; 'Building a Legacy with God for such a time like this'.

The delegates were drawn from Swedru, Cape Coast, Akyem Manso, Akroso, Sekondi, Wassa Darmang, Assin Fosu and Winneba Districts which constitute the West Ghana Conference.

The delegates expressed their profound gratitude to the doctors for calling off their three weeks strike and also thanked all who contributed towards the calling off of the strike.

They emphasized the need of government to expedite action with the negotiations in order to fix the issues in due course to bring sanity in the society.

The Presiding Prelate urged the congregation to always be truthful in all their undertakings as Samuel did when he received the blessing and grace of the Lord God Almighty.

He said problems and challenges would come the way of Christians, but that should not discourage them, but rather, they should stand firm in the Lord and He will not forsake them.

He charged the members of the Church to unite in their efforts to build a legacy for God by using the Bible as a book of discipline to guide themselves for development and progress.

He later led the congregations to pray to God for guidance for President Mahama, the Ministers of State and for God to continue to pour his blessings and peace on the country.
