We Are Ready - EC Assures

THE ASHANTI regional Electoral Commission (EC) has assured that it is ready to conduct a successful assembly polls across the region today.

Paul Boateng, the EC Chief in the region, who gave the firm assurance, stated that all is set for successful elections in the region so there is no cause for alarm.

According to him, the electoral materials, needed to make the polls successful in the region had been provided by the commission some days ahead of the voting day.

He stated that the EC officials, who the commission would be depending on heavily to make the elections grand, are poised for action.

Mr. Boateng also indicated that the mounting of platform for the various contestants to state their vision to the electorates, which usually precede the polls, had been done.

In this regard, the Ashanti regional EC boss maintained, his outfit was more than ready to conduct the polls so the public should not panic.

Mr. Boateng was hopeful that barring any last minute hitch, the assembly elections would be held across the various electoral areas in the region at the same time.

He disclosed that the Dichemso Electoral Area where there is a legal issue is the only place in the region that the polls cannot be held today.

He therefore urged the people to patronize the polls in large numbers,  stressing that the assembly elections is an important national exercise which would help boost Ghana’s democracy.
