Six Reasons Why The Christian Shall Not Be Judged

Six Reasons Why The Christian Shall Not Be Judged
23.07.2015 LISTEN

 In my meditations this question comes up so strongly and once I shared it with crowds of passengers waiting to board train at the train station in Accra.

Check these four questions;

Will the Christian not be judged like any other person or sinner on the day of reckoning?

Is the Christian guaranteed automatic right of passage into heaven?

What are the scriptural evidences that the Christian is free from judgment and condemnation on the last day?

Does this sound too good to be true?

And I found these evidences in the word of God.

“ There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit”.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God”

“For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged”

“But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world”

“But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man”

What do these words mean?;

In Rom 8:1 there is therefore now no condemnation….. 3 conditions are exposed.

To be in Christ Jesus

walk not after the flesh

But walk after the Spirit

To be in Christ means to be converted into Christ. You have invited Christ Jesus into your life. You have been filled by and led by His Spirit. It means your sins have been forgiven and washed away by the blood of Jesus. Your spirit is re-generated by the Spirit of God. To be in Christ means to live for Christ. It means Christ and His Father and His Spirit are living inside you, then we can say you are in Christ. Note the scripture didn’t say there is no condemnation for those that go to church. It is possible to be in church for decades but not experience any of the above named 3 conditions in order not to be judged;

Walk not after the flesh, But after the Spirit. Walking after the flesh means obeying the demands of your flesh as a natural man. If your flesh tells you to drink alcohol, smoke marijuana, live in bitterness and un-forgiveness, fornicate, adultery etc. and you obey, then you are walking by the flesh. Being materialistic is also a mark of walking to please your flesh. Note that anything you do that pleases the flesh works against our fellowship with God and His Spirit. Pleasing the world is to be in enmity with God.

Similarly, to walk by the Spirit is to submit to the Spirit of God, to be led by the Holy Spirit, to be strengthened and equipped by the Spirit of God to live your life. Your focus is upon things of the Spirit. You hunger and thirst is for holiness, obedience to God, your will and that of God are synchronized.

So clearly any one truly standing in Christ (not merely being present in church) has no condemnation or judgment awaiting him/her.

Judging ourselves

The key to making it to God without any further judgment like the unbeliever is continuous, daily judging of ourselves. It involves weighing of our actions, words etc.

The scripture says, “For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged”

Judging ourselves, our actions, words, choices, priorities, relationships, desires, affections, thoughts, meditations by the word of God which is the standard of God makes us better fit into the image of Christ. The question is how well we carry this out. Do you judge your prayer life and even prayer points by the standard of God?

One day the Lord told me I was asking for the wrong things. I later realized I was asking for the things far outside of His priorities and purposes for my life. i.e.instead of desiring and asking for spiritual things; grace, revelation, wisdom, boldness to accomplish my calling, for example, I was asking for my career progress. At another time He told me to give thanks, praise and worship Him more when I rise up at night to pray. In fact that is what the word of God says; enter into His gates with thanksgiving, into His courts with praise. Until I got this understanding and allowed it to change my prayer life and prayer points, I was not making the needed impact. What about you? Is your mind being renewed right now as you read this message? If it’s being renewed, as I hope, then you are evaluating and judging yourself so no one else should judge you afterward.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life( John 5:24 (KJV) .

Absolute Faith in Christ (the WORD) and His Father, passes the Christian from death to life. This means a true believer is moved from condemnation into eternal life, no judgement.

Have you imagined this? At the gate of judgment, we the children of God will just wave the judges ( of course the saints will be part of the judges ) and proceed to take our crowns, rewards, mansions and cities that have been prepared for us. Praise the Lord!

No judgment even here on earth for the Christian if we do out things well by the standard of the word of God. Titus wrote “Sound speech that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you”.

This means we must utter Sound speech only, sound interpersonal interactions only, and this will render those on the other side of the divide (the unbeliever) without any accusations or weapons to attack or accuse us with. This also means a good Christian is a good citizen everywhere in the world.

In addition, Prophet Isaiah wrote, “…and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn”. Similarly, Matthew wrote, “For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.” The Christian cannot involve in empty ungodly talk, gossip, defamation, libel. Even bribery and corruption should not be smelled around the Christian. Our words must build peace, and unity. Our words must carry love, humility, faithfulness.

In conclusion, these are the SIX REASONS why every TRUE Christian has passed the judgement;

We are in Christ

We walk not by the flesh

We walk in and by the Spirit

Our sins are forgiven and we are washed by the blood of Jesus

We judge ourselves daily and renew our minds and actions to conform to God’s standard by which the sinner will be judged.

We walk by faith. We believe God

Warning this list does not include everyone that goes to church. There is difference between the two.

I wish us a happy and successful Christian life as we judge ourselves daily by the word of God. Then there will No judgement await us!
