Tema, Sept. 13, GNA - A 34-year-old mason who used gifts and money to lure four minors to have anal sex with them at various times, has been remanded by the Tema Circuit Court 'A'.
Mawuli Amegadzi pleaded not guilty to having anal sex with the boys, aged between seven and 11 years, and will re-appear on Wednesday, September 29.
Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Mary Assunta told the court presided over by Mr Charles Asiedu that, about two months ago, the accused, who lived in the same vicinity with the victims, got to know the boys through an 11-year-old boy, who was staying with him. Chief Inspector Assunta said the accused person enticed the four victims with gifts in the form of money, football, and second hand clothing, when they visited him at the industrial area.
The prosecution said the accused person succeeded in having anal sex with them at different places, and after his action, warned the victims not to tell anyone.
Chief Inspector Assunta said when hinted, the complainant, an auto mechanic, confronted the victims, who revealed their ordeal. The prosecution said the matter was reported to the police, and this resulted in the arrest of the accused person. Upon interrogation, he admitted in his caution statement as having had anal sex with the boys.
