Sekondi, Aug. 06, GNA - The Judicial Committee, of the Western Regional House of Chiefs, on Tuesday set aside the decision of Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Council in 1999 to destool Nana Ngoa Anyima Kodom II, Chief of Bibiani and the Krontihene of the Traditional Area. Mr Justice I. K. Esantsi, Counsel for the Regional House of Chiefs, read the Judicial Committee's ruling on the issue at its sitting in Sekondi.
The Committee ordered the Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Council to re-constitute its Judicial Committee to sit again on the destoolment charges preferred against Nana Kodom.
The ruling said all the four kingmakers of the Traditional Area, filed a writ with the Traditional Council to destool Nana Kodom but only three out of the four thumb-printed the writ. The Committee said two out of the three signatories of the writ later withdrew from the case.
It said the action to destool the Krontihene should have been initiated by majority of the Kingmakers and not by a single person. The Committee declared the earlier decision of the Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Council as null and void.
