Accra, July 23, GNA - Armed men on Friday afternoon robbed a man who had withdrawn 15 million cedis at the Standard Chartered Bank at Osu.

The robbers armed with a G-3 rifle and driving a cream car trailed the man from the Bank. As soon as they got to the American Embassy area they came out of their car pulled the gun on the victim, snatched the money and sped off.

Chief Superintendent Bright Oduro, Regional Crime Officer, confirmed the story to the Ghana News Agency and noted that the modus operandi looked like that of Ataa Ayi, one of the most wanted armed robbers and his gang.

There is a 20-million-cedi reward for information leading to his arrest.

Chief Superintendent Oduro said most of the members of his gang had been arrested but he was training new gangs.

Mr Oduro said Ayi's specialty was to trail people from banks and rob them where they least suspected.

He advised the public to be security conscious by watching suspicious characters and volunteering information to the Police promptly.
