The Deputy Director of Finance and Administration of Kosmos Energy, Mr Kofi Opoku, said the decision to sponsor the Anti-corruption and Fraud category was to encourage journalists to campaign against corruption.

He said the media needed to hold organisations and government accountable for their actions, hence the need to support and encourage them.

The Corporate Affairs Manager of Voltic, Mr Cyrus deGraft-Johnson,in presenting the cheque, said his company's support for the Health and Sanitation category was to encourage journalists to do a detailed analysis of sanitation and health issues in the country.

The General Secretary of GJA, Mr Dave Agbenu, who received the cheques, said corporate institutions did not influence the mandate of journalists by sponsoring their events.

On behalf of the GJA, he thanked the organisations for their support.
