Samsung Ghana is calling on all customers and users of Samsung phones to register their phones on the e-warranty platform to enable them check the authenticity of their phones as well as enjoy a ravishing 24-month warranty.

The e-warranty platform offers customers of all Samsung phones the unique opportunity of checking whether their phones are original.

“We at Samsung always seek to provide our customers with real value for their money. The e-warranty service is therefore here to ensure our customers get 24 months warranty while giving them the opportunity to check for the authenticity of their phones” – Tetteh Akornor, Products Manager for Handheld Products at Samsung Ghana explained.

He said Samsung has made the registration on the e-warranty platform very easy and convenient as customers can register using their mobile phones irrespective of their mobile service providers.

Tetteh explained that customers could register their phones on the e-warranty platform by sending the phone's 15 digit IMEI number to the short code 1453 across all networks.

“The IMEI number can be found on the phone's packaging and it can also be seen in the empty battery slot on a white label noting IMEI, or by dialing *#06#,” he said.

Tetteh said as part of Samsungs continuous efforts to protect their valued customers against the influx of counterfeit phones, i2 Ghana Limited, an authorized Samsung dealer in Ghana has introduced a seal that will be on the packaging of all genuine Samsung phones.

“This innovation is to help consumers identify the authenticity of their phones at point of purchase before even unpacking their phones to register on the e-warranty platform,” he stated.

Samsung recently launched its flagship Galaxy S4 with an ADH (accidental damage from handling) cover for Africa, which means handset registered under the e-warranty will get two opportunities of free replacement or repair if the screen breaks or there is liquid damage within the 24-month warranty period.

The company assured customers that once the phone has an e-warranty, replacement or repair of screen damage will be than with no questions asked.

Samsung is currently the mobile handset market leader in Ghana with over 40% market share and more than 60% revenue share.

The company due to launch its new affordable Smartphone, Galaxy Star which this month, in an effort to give everyone the unique opportunity to own a Smartphone in Ghana.
