Cape Coast, March 11, GNA - A Cape Coast Magistrate's Court on  Monday imposed a fine  of  GH¢ 320.00  on Nana Quansah, a shop assistant, for abducting her sixteen -year-old  girlfriend.

Quansah, who pleaded guilty would go to prison for one month  in default.

Police Inspector Christiana Sampong told the court presided over by Ms. Mercy Adei Kotei that on March 3 this year, the girl spent the whole day in Quansah's house.

The prosecution said Nana Quansah and the girlfriend went to the house of Enoch Essuman, a witness in the case, at Essuakyire.

The court heard that Nana Quansah pleaded with  Essuman to allow them to spend the night in his  room  but they ended up staying there for three days.

Police Insp. Sampong said Nana Quansah absconded and the complainant, Seth Larbi, father of girl reported the matter  to the Domestic  Violence and  Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Ghana Police Service.

She said Larbi managed to arrest Nana Quansah from his hideout and handed him over to DOVVSU.
