Nkoranza (B/A), Jan. 30, GNA - Nana Adutwumwaa Dudaa Kani, Queenmother of Nkoranza Traditional Area, has appealed to the Nkoranza South Municipal Directorate of Education for permission to adopt the Girls Model School at Nkoranza and name it after herself.

She pledged to provide special attention towards its development, and   recently presented 120 canvas shoes for distribution to the students of Nkoranza Girls Model School to encourage girls' education.

This was announced by Nana Owusuaa Ayiwa, Queenmother for Sikaa, when she presented 500 exercise books to students of Nkoranza-Effah Presbyterian Primary and Nkoranza-Sarpomaa District Assembly Primary Schools.

She advised the students to attend school regularly, obey the rules and regulations to be self-disciplined and responsible.

Nana Ayiwa, who is also Secretary of Nkoranza Queenmothers Association, said Nana Kani had more plans towards the promotion of education in the communities and therefore urged the students to be serious in school.

Madam Agnes Mensah Amoanimaa, Assemblywoman for Nkoranza Electoral Area, who received the exercise books, commended Nana Kani for her love and concern for girls' education in the area.

She urged the youth to take their education serious and aim at reaching higher levels to become responsible future leaders for the country.

Madam Amoanimaa advised the students to eschew absenteeism and truancy, which would have adverse effect on their education.

Mrs Philippa Banson, Nkoranza South Municipal Director of Education, expressed appreciation to Nana Kani for the kind gesture in ensuring that the youth in the traditional area received quality education.
