The Bank of Ghana (BoG) has noted that it has not issued any directive that banks should impose fees or charges on foreign deposits.
Reports in the media are rife that some banks are charging more on foreign deposits and that this was directed by the Central Bank.
Some customers even claim their banks have officially written to notify them about the new charges, insisting this was a directive from the Bank of Ghana.
But the Central Bank in a statement insists it has not issued any such directive.
