Accra, June 9, GNA – The 1978 year group of the Ghana Senior High School at New Juaben in the Eastern Region at the weekend organised a reunion to rekindle its members' effort towards the development of their Alma-Mata.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, Mr Samuel Asante, President of the group said the reunion was also to motivate members to network effectively towards the mobilisation of funds to help the school.

Mr Asante said the school was established in 1943 with only 16 students but now has a population of 2,245 with 187 teaching and non-teaching staff, with Very Reverend Abraham Donkor as the Headmaster.

Mr Asante expressed gratitude to the government for rehabilitating the two-storey six-unit flat and dormitories for the teachers and students, through the GETFund and said; “we have to supplement the efforts of government.

He advised the students to take their studies seriously and be respectful and obedient adding that; “education is the key to success.”

Some of the executive members of the group are Mr Osei Wusu, Secretary, Miss Gladys Jessie, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) a Treasurer and Mr Amponsah Asiamah a member.
