The Central Regional branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has sent a message of congratulations to Dr Mahamadu Bawumia on his nomination by Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the unanimous approval given him by the National Council to partner Akufo Addo for the 2012 elections.

The nomination of Dr Bawumia as Nana Addo’s running mate makes the NPP very formidable for the 2012 election and also as a party poised for victory.

In a statement signed by the Regional Secretary of the party, Mr Kwamena Duncan, it stated that the Central Region NPP was of a strong conviction that Dr Bawumia had what it took to partner Akufo Addo for victory 2012.

It said that the selection of Dr Bawumia, a renowned economist with a vast international experience came at a time Ghana’s economy was in serious crisis due to incompetence, gargantuan mismanagement and unprecedented corruption in government.

The NPP in the Central Region is of the belief that Dr Bawumia’s wealth of experience in economic management coupled with his international exposure, makes him well -positioned to help change the reverse gear direction of the country under the Mills-Mahama administration when NPP is elected into office.

It is in line with this that the entire membership of the New Patriotic Party in the Central Region welcomes Dr Bawumia’s nomination.

Ghanaians are looking forward to a real leadership which will salvage them from this unprecedented economic hardships and leadership paralysis that has engulfed Ghana under President Mills, the statement concluded.
