JOY FM MAN TO UNSEAT INUSAH FUSEINI
The Northern Regional reporter for Joy Fm, Mr. Mahama Shaibu has confirmed his intention to contest the Tamale Central Constituency seat as an independent Parliamentary candidate.
His posters have been splashed in vantage positions in the metropolis making it the topic for discussions in the local media and the talk of town about his likelihood in unseating the incumbent Member of Parliament, Hon Inusah Fuseini.
Noted for us acquaintance with the elderly and the youth in the constituency coupled with his boldness to stand up to challenged in persuading the ruling government to finding the killers of Yaa Naa, Mahama Shaibu's intend will cause a lot to the seating Member of Parliament and the ruling NDC administration.
The veteran Journalist, who until recently the manager of Zaa radio, a local radio station based in Tamale has managed about six radio station in the metropolis, a broadcast Journalism lecture in the International Instituted of Journalism in Tamale, worked with Joy fm as its Northern Regional Correspondent for close to 12 years and natured a lot of young Journalist in Tamale who are currently gainful employed, hence making him a very popular person in media, the youth and the region as a whole.
In an exclusive interview with the TIDE newspaper, Mr Shaibu said the NDC incumbent Member of Parliament, Inusah Fuseini, has failed his constituents who are looking for change, he is convinced that he can bring the needed change to the good people of Tamale Central when voted.
In outlining reasons for his decision to contest among other reason, he said, “I want to contest because a lot of the constituents want more than what they are getting now. I want to contest because a lot of the women and the youth are wallowing in abject poverty because they do not have jobs; I understand and appreciate because I am always around them.” He said.
Since the murder of late Yaa Naa Yakubu Andani, Mahama Shaibu was the among the first people in Dagbon to have been bold in condemning the act, organized peaceful demonstration, symposiums and press conference during the else while NPP regime and the current NDC government demanding for justice in the murder of the late king.
His believe is that there is the need to ensure peace and justice at all times for all persons regardless of ones religious, political or chieftaincy divide, He insisted, “I think that we need to ensure justice at all times so that the culture of impunity will come to an end and it is only a matter of time you begin to realise that I am a force to reckon with.”
Information gathered by these paper has it that, the incumbent MP, Hon Inusah Fuseini has since dashed down to Tamale since Mahama Shaibu poster have taken over the principal street of Tamale and meeting youth groups to reassure them of early promises.
