Saint Andrews SHS honors Staff

Assin-Fosu, Feb. 8, GNA – Saint Andrews Senior High School and its Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) have instituted a vehicle hire purchase scheme to enable all its 52 teaching and 25 non-teaching staff to own vehicles .

The scheme instituted by the management of the School with financial support from its Parents Teacher Association (PTA) is to motivate staff to give of their best.

Consequently, two Hyundai salon cars being the first consignment were handed over to two teachers of the School; Mr Samuel Yaw Arthur and Mr. Emmanuel Amissah on Tuesday.

The vehicles are to be used commercially to enable the beneficiaries pay a minimum of GH¢ 100 on weekly basis for a two year period.

The Director of the school Mr Richard Asiedu, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview that the PTA provided GH¢ 160, 000 for the two cars which will attract 10 per cent interest each plus the registration fees and other charges amounted to GH¢ 10,300 for each vehicle.

In the event of a breakdown, the School will repair or buy a spare part for the beneficiary teachers.

For his part, Mr. Amissah praised the PTA and indicated that it was a laudable idea and a bold step to upgrade the livelihood of teachers.
