Fiapre, Nov 17, GNA - A circuit court at Fiapre, near Sunyani has remanded a 19- year-old labourer into prison custody for having in his possession a locally manufactured pistol that he attempted to sell.
Kwasi Hamadu's plea to a charge of possessing fire arms without authority was not taken and will re-appear before the court on November 18.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Mawuno Ngnegbe told the court presided by Mr. Benjamin Owusu that the complainant, a driver, and Hamadu both live at Yawhima, also near Sunyani.
He said on October 29 Hamadu went to the complainant and offered to sell a locally manufactured pistol to him.
When the driver wanted to know how he got the gun Hamadu could not give any tangible answer so he former arrested him and sent him to the police station.
