FRIENDS OF HON. FIFI FIAVI KWETEY, has, on behalf of Hon. Fifi Franklin Fiavi Kwetey, the Deputy Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, donated computers and accessories to 20 local Junior High School in the ketu south district of Volta region, the presentation was done across the selected Schools by Hon. Assembly Members representing the Area of the Schools.

The donation is aimed at helping the students acquire practical knowledge to enable them pass ICT subject at the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) level.

Briefing the Press, Mr. Chester Sena Ati, the Public Affairs Director of the group said; Friends of Fifi Kwetey are indeed concerned about the future of the youth of this community hence the provision of these computers, not only to make the students abreast with technological advancement of society, but more importantly to make our students compete with other students in the country when it comes to ICT examination at the BECE level.

He continued that Fifi Kwetey as part of measures to encourage academic excellence among pupils and students of his constituency, have donated computers and accessories to the selected schools to encourage them perform better and make good grades in the on-coming BECE following poor result Ketu south Schools produced in the last BECE.

The Group also promises to institute a scholarship scheme for students who are able to gain aggregate six to ten in the BECE.

The beneficiary institutions Schools include Aflao Border Junior High School, Aflao Preventive Junior High School, E.P. Tokor Junior High School, SS Peter & Paul Junior High School, Akporkploe Junior High School, Wudoaba Junior High School, Adafinu Junior High School, Chicago Junior High School- Denu, Hedzranawo No. 1 Junior High School, Nogokpo Junior High School, Agbozume Kpota Junior High School, Agbozume Some National Junior High School, Dodorkope Junior High School, Klikor Unity Junior High School, Klikor Central Junior High School, Amedzikope Junior High School, Adina Junior High School, Blekusu Junior High School, Girl Child Education Unit and ABACC FM

Mr. John Jerry Gbadegbe noted that since the group was committed to quality education delivery within its catchment area and the country as a whole it was ready to embrace any initiative geared towards its vision.

He advised the teachers to make good use of the computers and also urged the students to take their lessons seriously.

The Director of Girl Child Education Unit of the Ghana Education Service, Mrs. Cate Mikado expressed her gratitude to the group and Hon. Fifi Kwetey and hoped other institutions would emulate the group's shining example.

Present at the ceremony were Mr. Simon Bakar, the Volta Regional NDC Treasurer, Pascal Lamptey, the Deputy Youth Organizer of Ketu South, Hajia Aishetu, Deputy Women Organizer of Ketu South Constituency and Representatives of STL (Ghana).

Mr. Simon Bakar, the Volta Regional NDC Treasurer said that, this is not only a support to the Ketu South, but also a support to the “Better Ghana” Agenda advocated by H.E. President Mills.

He is of the expectation that support to Ketu South's education sector from the FRIENDS OF HON. FIFI FIAVI KWETEY will continue in the coming years.
