The Face of Ghana Organization officially launched on Sunday, 16th August, 2009, preparations for this year's event with a modest cocktail event at the Meram Lounge in Amsterdam Southeast. In attendance were members of the organizing team, registered participants and special guests. Highlights included motivational words by Ms. Linda Ntim, Fashion Consultant and CEO of Susaslin Fashion and Ms. Nana Carr, one time Miss Charm and now a Modeling Consultant. See photos attached.
Ananse Pharmacy – official health consultants for the show, sponsored the cocktail event. Audition for selection of the ten finalists is scheduled to take place on Sunday, 25th August, 2009 in Amsterdam. The Grand Finale, which promises to be spectacular and unrivalled, will take place on Saturday, 14th November, 2009 at the Ultra-modern Bijlmer Sports Hall at Anton de Komplein 157 in Amsterdam Southeast. Showcasing the endowments and achievements of the winners of the Face of Ghana Holland 2007 event:
a. Miss Jacqueline Boakye Agyemang – FOG 1st Prize winner.
b. Miss Sandra Agyeman – FOG 2007 1st Runner-up and Reigning Miss Elegance, Ghana Homecoming Queen Beauty Pageant.
c. Miss Pearl Buadu–FOG 2007 2nd Runner-up and Reining Ghana Homecoming Queen.
The event, with the slogan 'BEAUTY WITH A MISSION', has the following core set objectives;
1. To open door and provide career and educational opportunities not only to the winner, but also to all the contestants.
2. To offer a potent avenue where young women can build themselves up in elegance, poise, confidence, communication and public speaking, physical fitness, self-discipline and more importantly not only serve as role models for their generation but also inspire other peers to make the best out of their circumstances.
3. To encourage active involvement of the contestants and particularly the title-holders in community service, public awareness campaigns and diverse charities both here and in Ghana.
4. To provide positive alternative to the many distractions and destructive activities that lure our young ones into wrong things and choices today.
