A Tamale Circuit Court on Monday remanded two Nigerian women into prison custody to appear again next week.

The women whose names were given as Ntioma, 45, and Nkuro, 40, pleaded not guilty to a charge of human trafficking but the court rejected their plea.

Prosecuting DSP Baah told the court presided over by Justice S. Mensah that the two were arrested last week whilst transporting three girls from Tamale to a neighbouring country.

Acting on a tip-off, the police mounted surveillance on the activities of the two women and arrested them at a hotel with the girls.

DSP Baah said a search conducted on them revealed a quantity of condoms and various contraceptives.
