Cape Coast June 9, GNA - Mr Samuel Valis Akyianu, Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has advised newly appointed metropolitan, municipal and district chief executives in the region, to be circumspective in their dealings with the people.

Mr Akyianu who was speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Cape Coast, asked the chief executives to eschew arrogance and other vices, to pave way for the ruling NDC to win the support of the people and retain power in 2012.

He said President John Evans Atta Mills, had advised seriously against corruption and warned that any public official who is found engaged in malfeasance would not be spared.

Mr Akyianu therefore asked the chief executives to rely on divine intervention in order to avoid temptation.

He expressed the need for the chief executives to avoid divisive tendencies and rather work in harmony with all and sundry and pool resources for the development of the region and the nation.

Mr Akyianu said the region was privileged to host the US President, Barrack Obama and urged the chief executives, to assist the Regional Minister, Mrs Ama Benyiwa-Doe and the President of Oguaa Traditional Council Osabarima Kwesi Atta to clear the filth that had engulfed Cape Coast, to keep the metropolis clean.

"We can only achieve all these through discipline,” he said.
