Accra, April 24, GNA—Apostle Daniel Kwami
Noble-Atsu, Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the
Ghana Pentecostal Council has called on churches to consider
putting up youth resource centres to cater
for their training and counselling.
This, he said, would enable their gifts and talents to be
harnessed for accelerated growth of the church and the nation.
Apostle Noble-Atsu made the call at the opening of the 35th
Annual conference of the Accra Presbytery of the Global
Evangelical Church in Accra on Friday.
About 100 delegates from the region are attending the
three-day conference which is under the theme; ”Harnessing all gifts
for Accelerated Growth”
It is aimed at deliberating on issues affecting the church and
also map out strategies to face the challenges.
Apostle Noble-Atsu said the youth were the future of the
family, the church and the nation and that their future would largely
depend on the type of training or grooming they receive.
The Regional Chairman expressed regret that, the youth were
exposed to pornographic and “Sakawa” filth on the internet and the
HIV/AIDS menace, whilst schools and other associations
encouraged them to engage in premarital sex by using condoms.
The Reverend Christian Gbekor, Accra Presbytery Chairman
of the Church, called on parents to take active interest in the
education of their wards to enable them to grow to become useful
citizens.
He said the Church would soon venture into grass-cutter,
mango and other projects to raise funds to support the activities of
the Church.
