Fishermen asked to Improve Sanitation Along Volta Lake

The Chairman of the Lake Region Fishermen Association, Mr. Castro Mediale has appealed to fishermen along the Volta Lake to adhere strictly to sound sanitary practices in the discharge of their duties.

He noted that the situation where fishermen litter the immediate environment of the lake which also serves as the main source of drinking water for the people was not the best.

Mr. Mediale made the appeal at a workshop for the Dzemeni zone of the Association at Dzemeni, to upgrade their skills as well as encourage them to adhere to the best practices in the fishing industry, with emphasis on healthy practices that would keep them healthy.

He noted that littering along the lake does not promote good health.
