Eight drivers fined GH¢12,000 for motor traffic offences

The Bibiani Magistrate Court presided over by Mr Osei Kofi Amoako, on Tuesday slapped a fine of GH¢12,000 on eight drivers for flouting motor traffic offences.

The offences include failing to obtain driving licenses, causing road obstruction, picking passengers at unauthorized places and insecure loading.

The drivers were Kwame Teteme, 36, Joe Awuah, 25, Eric Mensah, 42, and Kofi Attah, 33, Cudjoe Martin, 19, Michael Oduro, 25, Eugene Affi and Osei Kwaku, 19.

They all pleaded guilty and fined GH¢150 each. In default each would serve six months imprisonment.

Detective Chief Inspector Alex Asamoah prosecuting told the court that the drivers were arrested during police duty on the roads.
