Some schools in the Greater Accra Region, especially those in the rural areas have completed the term without the new syllabi which were supposed to have been provided following the introduction of the new education reform. One of such schools is the Mampong-Shai Basic School near Afienya in the Dangme West district.

The Headmaster of the School, Jacob Kwasi Azargo said teachers had to use the old syllabi during the term and that hopes to receive copies of the new ones before the commencement of the next term. He mentioned lack of Dangme teachers and text books as well as classrooms to house the nursery department of the school as some of the problems facing the school.

He said nursery pupils are currently being taught in a church building in the community. He urged parents to encourage their ward to improve the standard of educational in the area.
