Member of Parliament for Assin South, Reverend John Ntim Fordjour, has demanded a retraction and apology from Ghanaian transgender musician Angel Maxine over alleged defamatory comments made against him.
The controversy stems from a viral social media post in which the musician is said to have claimed that the MP, who is associated with anti-LGBTQ+ advocacy, is gay and has had sexual relations with her.
However, in a cease and desist notice issued by his legal representatives, Nkrumah & Associates on Monday, April 27, the MP categorically denied ever knowing or meeting the musician.
The legal team stated that “our client makes bold to say that you are a complete stranger to him” and added that he has “at no material time met, seen, communicated with, associated with or engaged in sexual intercourse or any form of sexual contact with you.”
The lawyers further described the allegations as baseless and damaging.
They noted that the statements were made without regard for the truth and have exposed the MP to public ridicule.
The notice also demanded immediate corrective action, cautioning that failure to comply will attract legal consequences.
It stated that “we demand an unconditional retraction of the defamatory material… and render an unqualified apology to our Client.”
According to the legal notice, Angel Maxine has seven days from April 27, to comply with the demands or face a lawsuit without further recourse.

In my opinion, you have worsened your case. Do you think you can threaten this person after fearlessly taking over social media to EXPOSE the affair publicly? That person, in particular, was even angrier with Sam George for using her as a reference for this issue. If you live in a glass house, don't throw stones. All of you are doing EVIL THINGS amid false propaganda to discredit Mahama's government, but whatever the NPP plans against this ruling government will come back to haunt you. The ...
