The Youth Employment Agency (YEA), in partnership with the Ghana Prisons Service, has held a Passing-Out Ceremony for the second batch of Prison Service Assistants under the YEA Prison Assistants Module at the Ankaful Maximum Security Prison in the Central Region.
The event, led by YEA Deputy Chief Executive Officer Abubakari Saana Abdul-Kudus on behalf of CEO Malik Basintale, brought together senior officials of the Ghana Prisons Service and other dignitaries.
The ceremony marked another significant step in the ongoing collaboration between YEA and the Ghana Prisons Service to train and deploy 5,000 young Ghanaians across the country to support prison management and rehabilitation efforts.
Addressing the graduates, Mr. Abdul-Kudus praised their discipline, hard work, and commitment during the training period, emphasizing that their contribution would help enhance the operational efficiency of Ghana’s correctional system.
He said the initiative demonstrates YEA’s dedication to creating sustainable and dignified employment for young people while reinforcing the manpower capacity of national security institutions.
“The YEA-Prisons Service partnership shows how government agencies can work together effectively to tackle unemployment and fill critical gaps within state institutions,” he noted.
The newly trained officers will soon be posted to various prison facilities nationwide, where they will assist in administrative, operational, and technical roles to support the Service’s mandate.
