General News Ken Ofori-Atta runs to Court again to prevent OSP from tagging him as ‘wanted person’
THU, 27 MAR 2025

Former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta has taken fresh legal action against the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), seeking a court order to prevent the agency from labeling him as a “wanted person” or a “fugitive from justice.”

His legal team filed a motion arguing that the OSP’s continued display of his photograph and details on its official Facebook page and other platforms violates principles of administrative justice. Ofori-Atta contends that this action contradicts assurances given in a letter dated February 18, 2025.

He is demanding that his name be immediately removed from the list of wanted persons and that the OSP be barred from reinstating it without judicial approval. His suit also includes a request for an interlocutory injunction to prevent the agency from issuing further press releases or statements declaring him a fugitive.

Additionally, Ofori-Atta is seeking a mandatory order compelling the OSP to erase all references to him as a wanted individual. His legal team argues that these actions infringe upon his fundamental human rights, including his freedom of movement, personal liberty, and right to administrative justice under the 1992 Constitution.

The case is scheduled to be heard in April 2025. If granted, the injunction would restrict the Special Prosecutor from making any further public declarations against Ofori-Atta until a final ruling is made.

This legal battle marks a major escalation in the standoff between the former minister and the anti-corruption agency as he fights to clear his name.
